Pokemon SoulSilver Version

It never ceases to amaze me how many Japanese firms subscribe to the philosophy of kaizen, or continuous improvement. Pokemon Platinum was a blast to play, but it had many deficiencies that appeared to be fixed with SoulSilver. SoulSilver fixes many of those problems and includes a Pokewalker that is fun to use and very useful at the same time.

The music quality is excellent and many of the overtures reminded me of the anime. The 3D rendering of Lugia flying through the ocean floor was superb and shows the power of the Nintendo DS/DSi/DSi XL. The in-game graphics are very good although there’s not a huge difference from Platinum and other 4th generation games.

The best part about SoulSilver is the updated menu system for items and other in-game activities. Platinum required scrolling a wheel with the stylus that became cumbersome and annoying after doing it for the 300th time.
