I am not intending to try to disparage Garmin here. I’m hoping to let you know with what I am comparing this GPS when I say it is excellent. After all, only these two GPS’es comprise my hands-on experience with such units.

The benefit I want most from a GPS is accurate navigation assistance. Magellan delivers on this and the Garmin does not. That’s about it and that’s my main point. The Magellan excelled at keeping me on the best roads and getting me to my destinations with minimal stress and frustration. The Garmin 765T often told me to turn one way while the arrow pointed the other way and seems to prefer looping FAR around cities regardless of the chosen routing options and traffic conditions. The Garmin even took me off interstates for no reason and then put me back on the same road 20 miles later to continue the trip.

My only criticism is that it gets a little warm so I keep it on top of a clipboard when holding it in my lap. No viruses, no crashes, no worries.

When netbooks started becoming popular a couple of years ago, I had to laugh because I already have a lightweight, handy netbook. In fact, I’m using it right now to write this review. Given a choice between a new Asus or Dell netbook or a used iBook G4 for the same price, I would take the G4 without thinking about it for a second.

This is a wonderful little camera; the autofocus is fast and accurate, the menus are clear and easy to use, the picture modes let you play with your creativity or you can use it for just point and shoot, and it has manual control when you are ready to use it. I went with the long lens because I take a lot of detail shots and this lens does the trick for me. I haven’t yet found a situation where I needed to zoom in closer, and when I do I can always buy a longer lens. Back to size it’s a great one handed camera to use, I find Pentax K-x Digital SLR Camera comfortable to handle and it feels well made.

The only drawback to this system is the lack of door/window switches – the only detecion unit are the motion sensors. If you are in long term rental with many doors/possible entry windows, you might want to look into a unit with door/window sensors.

TV is only inch and half thick and only weighs 60 pounds or so.

In fact, it is sometimes almost too good. When viewing people on HD you can see every little mole, scar, wrinkle, stray hair, makeup, five o’clock shadow, makeup line, etc. I’m sitting here watching the news and I can clearly see tiny pieces of lint on the guy’s black suit. I’m guessing the talking heads of tomorrow are all going to have to have much better complexions.

- not really a negative, but plan on upgrading your computer. my 3.4GHZ Intel Q6600 quad core w/ 4GB of ram seems to stutter when working with these HUGE images… the HD video from Canon EOS Rebel T2i Digital SLR Camera makes my computer cry. The core i7 extreme is looking better and better everyday.

As soon as the router was configured and provided a connection to the internet, I logged in ang got a surprise – it is configured by factory default to look for firmware updates every time I log in. This is fine as logging into the router becomes an infrequent activity after a while, though up front it can be annoying to have to wait for it to download and then update itself.

I shopped around and demoed many machines and, for under $200 this is the best I could find.

tip: look out for machines with lead components which Cuisinart EM-200 Espresso Maker does not have.
